Jenny Bramble!

Quality Advocate and Local Badass

Bio!
Jenny ended up in a quality assurance career after coming up through support and devops, cutting her teeth on that interesting role that acts as the 'translator' between customer requests from support and the development team. Her love of support and the human side of problems lets her find a sweet spot between empathy for the user and empathy for my team. She's done testing, support, or human interfacing for most of her career. She finds herself happiest when she's making an impact on other people--whether it's helping find issues in applications, leading scrum, speaking at events, or just grabbing coffee and chatting. A Crash Course in Testing with Dax and Dante

Sometimes when a feature is handed over to test, it feels like it's being lead into a dark cave where somthing happens and bugs are returned. What is that something? What is it that testers do to find these bugs? During this session, Dax Dumpling the Developer Siamese and Dante the Tester Maine Coon will help guide you along a journey into the world of testing as Dante teaches Dax the ropes. We'll see that there's a lot of different types of testing from boundary to regression to risk based to smoke to combinatorial. We'll give them names and descriptions as well as talk about when a tester might employ these methods on your features. You will come away with a deeper understanding of what testing is and how your team members do their jobs. Takeaways: * Types of testing and how you can apply them in development * How to talk to your testers about concerns * What your testers do on a daily basis * Adorable pictures of both Dax and Dante
