As companies grow, its common to reach a tipping point where you can’t just put everything into your shared OLTP database and keep scaling it up. Traditionally, data warehousing and ETL have required different skill sets and operated independently from application development, but with platforms like Microsoft Fabric, the skillsets aren’t so different anymore, especially if you know a bit of Python.
